Vector Design Conversion & Optimisation

Every great custom vinyl decal or custom vinyl sticker start with a clean digital file. Vinyl cutters don't read pixels; they read lines. If your logo or design concept is currently a blurry JPEG or a hand-drawn sketch, our service includes optimising your designs for the cutting process at an additional cost.

  • Line Clean-up: We turn jagged images into ultra-smooth vector paths

  • Weeding Optimisation: We design with the final product in mind, ensuring small details are preserved perfectly during the peeling process

  • Sizing Adjustments: Scaling your designs to fit your exact application surface flawlessly.

What We Do NOT Do (And Why It Benefits You)

We believe in transparency. To ensure there is no confusion, it is important to know what falls outside our scope of services:

  • No Printed Full Colour Stickers: We do not use inkjets or eco-solvent printers. Our products will never fade, run, or blur because they are made from solid-colour vinyl. (or layered colours)

  • No Commercial Signage Boards: We don't manufacture small or large lightboxes, or giant roadside billboards

  • No Wraps: We do not offer full vehicle colour-change wraps. (Only stickers and decals)

  • We don't go out and apply vinyl designs: This keeps our prices low. We do however, supply you with the final product and instructions on how to apply.

How to Apply Your Custom Vinyl Decals: A Step-by-Step Guide

Getting a flawless, bubble-free finish on your die-cut vinyl decal comes down to proper surface preparation and a bit of patience. Whether you are applying a windscreen banner, a bakkie tailgate graphic, or a small novelty sticker, follow this professional method for best results.

Crucial Tip: Never apply decals in direct, hot South African sunlight or onto a boiling hot car surface. The heat will cause the adhesive to grab instantly, making it incredibly difficult to smooth out bubbles or fix alignment mistakes. Work in a shaded, wind-free area if possible.

1. Clean the surface thoroughly - Prerequisite

Wash the target area with soapy water to remove road grime, then wipe it down completely with rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) or a dedicated wax remover. Do not use household glass cleaners (like Windolene) because they leave behind a slick residue that prevents the vinyl adhesive from bonding properly.

2. Measure and align Before peeling

Keep the backing paper intact. Place the decal exactly where you want it on the vehicle or window. Use a piece of masking tape along the top edge to create a "hinge." This ensures the graphic doesn't slip out of alignment when you begin the application.

3. Peel the backing paper slowly - The critical step

Flip the decal up using your tape hinge. Slowly peel away the thick paper backing at a sharp angle, leaving the vinyl design stuck firmly to the clear transfer tape layer. If any small part of the graphic tries to stay on the backing paper, press it back down firmly and try peeling again.

4. Squeegee from the center outward - Application

Lower the decal smoothly onto the surface. Using a squeegee, a hard plastic applicator, or even an old credit card wrapped in a soft cloth, press down firmly. Always stroke from the center of the design outward toward the edges. This smoothly pushes out any trapped air pockets before they become bubbles.

5. Remove the clear transfer tape - Final finish

Let the decal sit for 2 to 3 minutes to allow the adhesive to bond. Grab a corner of the clear transfer tape and slowly peel it back flat against itself (at a 180-degree angle) rather than pulling it straight out away from the surface. If the vinyl lifts, press it back down with your squeegee and wait a bit longer.

Pro-Tip for Fixing Stubborn Bubbles

If you end up with a tiny air bubble despite your best efforts, don't try to rub it hard, as you might stretch or scratch the vinyl. Instead, prick the edge of the bubble with a tiny sewing needle or pin, then use your thumb to gently push the trapped air out through the microscopic hole.
